The Marketing Magician

Once Upon A Time in the Kingdom of Wenatchee, Washington there lived an honest, kind and knowledgeable real estate agent, known to many in the land as a “marketing magician”.

One day, the honest Wenatchee real estate agent introduced herself to three homeowners who wanted to sell their homes. There was a Very Wise Homeowner, a Somewhat Skeptical Homeowner, and a Downright Skeptical Homeowner.

The honest, kind and knowledgeable real estate agent, marketing magician, carefully explained her innovative marketing program to all three homeowners. They were all very impressed, and agreed this is indeed a unique service being brought forth to them. Each homeowner took a different action, however… and this is the tale of their fates:

The Downright Skeptical Homeowners were indeed impressed, but did not want the marketing magician to knoweth.  They said, “Buggest us not! We are not interested in your innovative ways. We can sell our own home, without sharing our coins with you. We will put some classified ads in the local paper and wait for the phone to ringeth with anxious buyers wanting to buy our home immediately”. And so it was… the Downright Skeptical Homeowners placed their ads and waited for the phone to ringeth… and they waited, and waited, and waited. Yea, verily, they did get a few calls, but mostly from paupers,  in the land of the Kingdom of Wenatchee and outlying areas, who had no down payment and could not afford to make the required monthly payments. They spent many coins to advertise their home, and kneweth they had not been wise. They got discouraged and decided to moveth not.

The Somewhat Skeptical Homeowners also were impressed, but doubted this wondrous marketing program could be true. “It is too good to be true”, they told the honest, kind and knowledgeable marketing magician agent. “We will keep your marketing materials, and thinketh upon your ideas”, they promised. "Furthermore, we shall calleth you in a few days and let you knoweth of our decision”. So, indeed, they tooketh the time to read and study and review all scrolls of information the marketing magician left, but did not calleth the honest agent until many moons later. By that time the house market had changed, and the cost of borrowing coins to buy a home had gone up, and it was not a good time to selleth. However, the Somewhat Skeptical Homeowners were very desperate to sell by then, and they had to sell quickly. “Verily, we knoweth we should have listened to you many moons ago. Our home could have been sold by now”. So, in the end, the somewhat Skeptical Homeowners did allow the marketing magician real estate agent to list their home… and she did bring many qualified buyers and sold it FAST, and for many more coins than the Somewhat Skeptical Homeowners thought possible.

“Yea, verily, saith the Very Wise Homeowner. “This is indeed the agent I have been waiting for”, he proclaimed. “Indeed, I shall hire thee, the very honest, kind and knowledgeable marketing magician, to selleth my home”. And so it was, the Very Wise Homeowner’s home sold fast and for many coins… and they lived happily ever after!

Now, take heed, in the year of 2004, it is revealed that the scrolls of the original marketing magician have been passed down through the centuries to a very select few real estate agents who meet the strict criteria set forth in the Will of the original marketing magician. The original marketing magician insisted the scrolls be passed only to those who were the most honest, kind and knowledgeable of their time, and those who would continue to serve in the best interest of all.

It is with great pride that I declare the scrolls of the original marketing magician have been entrusted to me, Carol Williams. I shall carry forth with the traditions of the original marketing magician by selling homes fast and for many coins.

Please, call me and I will share the secrets of the centuries, and those new secrets which have been revealed to me… and you, too, will live happily ever after!
